Peace in the storm

Hello beloved, I welcome you again to the year 2017. I know we all started this year with high expectations and drive to have a spectacular year. Don’t be discouraged, God stays true to his word. No matter what your story is, good or not so good, one thing is sure: if God be for you, it doesn’t matter how many forces are working against you, they will all fail. You can hold onto that this year as you “walk with God”.

Main scripture: 2 Chronicles 20:1-30

This sounds like an irony but this what God does, he specializes in bringing good out of evil, beauty out of ashes, wisdom out of foolishness, joy out of sadness, victory out of a fall, peace even in the midst of the storm. Hallelujah!

So it really doesn’t matter how our life is going, we already know where it will end. As long as God remains God, he wants us to hand over our battles to him as he leads us to victory. It is God that leads us to victory and not we ourselves. It is not about our strategy, what we do or do not do. Sometimes people say, if I do this, then this will happen. Life has shown us that isn’t always the case. Sometimes some things happen to us that we just can’t explain. We do all the right things, yet the wrong things seem to be happening. Our God actually specializes in waiting for us to get to the end of ourselves, the end of our calculations and hand over the pieces to him in reckless abandonment. Then he gets up, gets in and takes absolute control because at that point, our wisdom or practice of planning our own lives is at the barest minimum. That usually is God’s best time to act!

Lesson: if there is anything at all that has bothered you or threatened your joy continually, hand it all over to God, maintain a habit of worship and watch him fight your battles.

Please, let this be your strategy for winning with God and keeping our peace this 2017. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world-John 16:33.
What seems like a mountain before us is nothing to our God. What seems to be driving us crazy cannot stand in the presence of the God we serve. What we should seek is the presence of God. That is our strategy. “When we walk with the lord in the light of his word, what a glory he sheds on our way”

I got a book by Joyce Meyer titled “Let God Fight Your Battles” and that completely changed my attitude about the challenges I face in life. It’s a really good read.

From our scripture in 2 Chro 20, there was a battle for Jehoshaphat to fight, war was declared for the people of Judah similar to the situations in our lives today. Issues with career, family, children, marriage, sickness, neighbors, friends and countless others. Our first reaction could have been fear or anger, sometimes even evident lack of confidence that we can make it through.

2 Chronicles 20:2-4 KJV
[2] Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazon-tamar, which is En-gedi. [3] And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord , and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. [4] And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the Lord : even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord . Now hear what the lord had to say after Jehoshaphat sought his face:
2 Chronicles 20:17 KJV
[17] Ye shall not need to fight in this battle : set yourselves, stand ye still , and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.

In conclusion, just like it happened here, God is telling us that we do not need to fight in our battles because he got it! We can adopt the same principle on dealing with issues that confronts us:

1. Seek God’s direction first
2. Believe that God is greater than the issue- don’t just say it, believe it.
3. Let God see your TOTAL dependence on him- no backup plan. Wait on God solely for direction.
4. Worship God with reckless abandonment- worship God for who he is. Bring to his remembrance the things that he has done for you in the past. If he could do those, then he can definite show up again.
5. Listen again for direction. Waiting can be boring but God always speaks- through his word, through dreams, other much midgets of God, vision, his still small voice and other means you may know.
6. Embrace his peace. It’s always there, no matter how deep the pain. God is there, right there with you. Not just to hug you and comfort you, but to FIGHT for you and bring you the victory without you loosing a sweat or loosing sleep😀 Halleluyah

God bless you all. Please Pray as lead by the spirit of God. More important worship God and get the direction for your life from him.
I love you all.
