The spiritual man

Good morning beloved of God. I trust we are all well. I pray that God will speak directly to our heart as we wait on him today. Amen

Prayer: Dear heavenly father, we give you glory honor and adoration. We thank you for the grace to be alive to worship and praise your holy name. Father, we pray this morning that will your kingdom come and your will be done in our individual lives, homes, children, husbands, parents, friends and the larger community. May the whole world seek and worship you in spirit and in truth in Jesus powerful name. AMEN

This particular message even though I have heard severally, the Holy spirit taught and revealed so much more to me as I prepared this message. I trust he will reveal more to you as you read in Jesus name.

Who is a Spiritual man?

A spiritual man is a born again Christian who walks according to the spirit and not according to the flesh. He is aware that he is first a Spirit being, and he has a soul and he lives in a body which gives enables her function effectively here in the physical world. She is not conformed to this present world in any shape or form, her soul purpose is to seek and worship God and to bring glory and honor to his name.

Spiritual man and Spiritual God

At creation, man was created in the image and likeness of God, and we all know that God is a spirit- (So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created him; male and female he created them-Genesis 1:27). If man is created in the image and likeness of God, then man is a spirit and Man must connect with God on a spiritual level. It is the spirit of a man that has access to the spiritual God. It is on this level that the relationship between God and man is effective. Man can only fully understand and discern God when he himself is not fully spiritual.

God never ever looks at the outward appearance. He searches the deeper part of man which are not seen by the physical eyes and this part is the heart of a man-And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. -Romans 8:27. The most important part of a man to God is his heart because if his heart is pure then his spirit is also pure and he can relate and communicate with God- Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. -Psalms 24:3-4

God is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth-John4:24, NET). Thats is, man must worship God with a pure and contrite heart. It is the man’s spirit that connects with the spirit of God, and it is as simple as that. That is why there is always a contention for the heart of the man. The Holy Spirit often seek to purify our heart and fill it good and positive thoughts while the devil day and night is to corrupt and fill us with negative thought and emotions so we can yield to the desires of the flesh which are in contrary to Things of the spirit. Think of days when you are so overwhelmed, you cant pray, cannot study the word of God. You cannot receive from the Holy spirit. Instead we spend so a lot of time feeling condemned and being upset over the issues that we are faced with.
It is only when our heart is pure and righteous that we can truly know and discern the heart of God-‘The one who is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is understood by no one-1 Corinthians 2:15’.

The natural man
An unbeliever cannot understand God or discern him in any way, shape or form, because to him God’s ways are foolishness, the bible says in the book of 1 Corinthians 2:14- ‘the unbeliever cannot receive the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him. And he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned’. He is a natural man in all sense of the word, he believes he only has a body and no hope of live after death. He is all about the here and now.

The carnal man

Do you also know that a baby Christian and a Christian who is at the childhood level in their Christian journey cannot fully discern the spirit of God because of the ‘carnality of their mind’. Remember, the book of John 4:24 above says God must be worshipped in spirit and in truth, and those are the people God seeks to worship him.

A carnal Christian operates at the babyhood and childhood level of spirituality, they claim to know God but their ways are not exactly right with God. They can sometimes sense God but because of their carnal mind, they cannot fully comprehend him. They often miss the message the Holy spirit is passing unto them, or might not react quickly because they are too distracted to tune in- ‘and I brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 1 Corinthians 3:1-3.
Apostle Paul was saying to the people in the church in Corinthians that he cannot speak with them about spiritual things because they cannot understand it. They were not spiritually mature to eat solid, so he still has to feed they milk (talk to them about forgiveness, giving, holiness and righteousness). They were still walking after the flesh, they were unforgiving, disobedient, and unkind to their fellow mankind, they kept malice with one another, and they even fought over who was on Paul or Apollo’s ministry (verse 4).
Beloved sisters, a carnal man does not please God and can never please God. A believer who blows hot today and cold tomorrow cannot have a part with God- So because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth- Revelations 3:16). Only spiritual beings have the privilege of fully sensing, hearing and discerning God, and this is the reason why we must pursue God with our whole heart. We must be deliberate to continually seek God in spirit and in truth. Psalm 24 says ‘who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation- Psalm 24:3. Sisters another criteria for receiving blessing from the Lord is to have a clean hands and a pure heart. Please examine your lives today and make adjustment where necessary.

I pray that God himself will minister to each of us independently and help us to grow spiritually in Jesus name. Amen

God laid these scriptures strongly on my heart- Colossians 3:1-10

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. -Colossians 3:1

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. -Colossians 3:2

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. -Colossians 3:3

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. -Colossians 3:4

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: -Colossians 3:5

For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: -Colossians 3:6

In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. -Colossians 3:7

But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. -Colossians 3:8

Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; -Colossians 3:9

And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: -Colossians 3:10 Amen 🙏🏽
